At least with bank financing, the ownership of the vehicle is between the client and the bank. But in case of hire purchase, the deal is between the car dealership and the client. I have previously heard of cases where the car dealers refuse to change the logbook name to the client’s when the client is done with paying.

Kindly advice on how one can shield themselves from such since i am looking into acquiring a car through hire purchase terms. The DO’s and the DON’Ts of such a deal.
