I think its important to first determine why the interviewer is asking that question. The motives behind it may vary, some may have superficial or rather selfish desires, others may want to get to know you better which is an acceptable way to start a conversation in Kenya. Your motivation will vary too. If a well-known technology entrepreneur were to ask, you answer will likely be meant to impress and elicite camaraderie. In a purely social environment you may want to start with your recent history and finish with your current passion. “I sold a blog and now I enjoy art.” “I invested well so now I can volunteer for causes I believe in.” “I built and sold a business and now I travel.” If, in fact, you actually do nothing, find your passion and enrich your life.

It will depend on the context and the specific job you are applying for.
However, a good general approach is to give a brief and clear summary of your current or most recent job or profession, and how it relates to the position you are applying for. For example, you could say something like “I currently work as a software engineer at XYZ Company, where I design and develop new features for our web-based application.
I am very excited about the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to your company as a [position you are applying for]”.
It’s always good to keep a positive attitude, show enthusiasm and to tailor your answer to the position that is applied for
